My studio is an open space lined with old materials, remnants retrieved from a wandering path. Using repurposed paper, cardboard and wood presents a basis for a new set of symbols. In essence, I became the caretaker of their varied histories making them my own. Their pasts are mysterious, thick with time that has settled in layers atop the worn surfaces. Scratching below these veneers reveals stories of time, place and memory long hidden from view and waiting to be rewritten with a fresh voice.

I’ve been working and exhibiting my artwork in the Puget Sound region for over four decades. From 1985 until the gallery closed in 2013, my work was represented by the Francine Seders Gallery in Seattle. Since 2016 it is now shown at i.e. gallery in Edison, Washington.
